About Us
Yumba Projects, an Aboriginal-owned contracting company that brings together skilled trades to deliver reliable, high-quality services and is deeply committed to creating culturally respectful and inclusive workplaces for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
Yumba Projects is proudly founded by Tee Warner, an Aboriginal woman from Toowoomba, Queensland, and a proud member of the Kullilla Tribe from the Thargomindah and Eulo region. Her professional foundation was shaped by her service in the Navy, where she developed a disciplined, accountable, and teamwork-driven approach to leadership. Her time in Defence instilled strong operational standards, resilience, and a commitment to excellence that she carries into every aspect of her leadership.
Yumba Projects vision is to grow a trusted trade services business that delivers long-term meaningful employment opportunities and creates positive outcomes for the community.
Our Artwork Story
This artwork is created by Michael Connelly, a proud artist from Charleville, nestled in South West Queensland. Michael creates under the artist name Munda-gutta Kulliwari, meaning “you know me before you see me.”
The artwork honours the heritage of Founding Director Tee Warner, whose Kullilli family connections are deeply rooted in the Country of the Kullilli people of South West Queensland — the traditional custodians of the Thargomindah and Eulo region. It celebrates the Kullilli totems and cultural stories that connect people, Country and creation.
At the heart of the artwork are two significant Kullilli totems: the Wedge-tailed Eagle and the Rainbow Serpent.
The Rainbow Serpent carries a powerful story of creation and Country. According to Kullilli Dreaming, the Bulloo River, at the heart of Kullilli Country, was carved through the landscape during Creation times by a powerful serpent being. Its presence speaks to the deep connection between Country, water and creation, and the enduring journey of generations.
The Wedge-tailed Eagle represents strength, vision and unity. Soaring above Country, the eagle brings a sense of perspective and leadership, while reminding us of the strength found in coming together and looking forward with purpose.
Together, these totems reflect the values at the heart of Yumba Projects — connection, strength, vision, unity and respect for Country.
Yumba Projects was established with a commitment to creating Indigenous employment and meaningful career pathways within the plumbing and electrical industries. The artwork reflects this journey, with the energy of the eagle moving overhead and the Rainbow Serpent flowing deeply through the earth — symbolising the connection between people, Country and the pathways we create for future generations.
The pathways within the artwork represent the journey of Yumba Projects — moving across Country, building connections, creating opportunities and carrying culture forward through meaningful work.
The lighting elements represent the partnership and guidance of Egan Brothers, recognising the strength that comes from working together and supporting Indigenous business, employment and opportunity.
More than a visual representation of Yumba Projects, this artwork tells a story of Country, culture, connection and opportunity. It honours where we come from, the people who walk beside us, and the future we are building together — where culture, connection and meaningful employment can continue to grow.
